
Copper Sulphate is crystal powder, odorless and blue in colour. It is hazardous under OSHA regulations in the United States and the WHMIS Controlled Product Regulation in Canada. It is acidic in nature and bears melting/freezing point at 110°C (230°F) with relative density and vapour density 2.284 and 8.6 respectively. It is easily soluble in cold and hot water. Its Carcinogenic effects is not classified or listed by IARC, NTP, OSHA, EU and ACGIH. It is Non-flammable and use as an extinguishing agent suitable for the surrounding fire. During accidental release, immediately contact emergency personnel. Keep unnecessary personnel away. Use suitable protective equipment. Do not ingest. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Copper Sulphate Anhydrous is dark blue triclinic crystal or blue crystalline powder or granule. It smells like nasty metal. It slowly weathers in dry air. It’s very soluble in water and the solution is acidic. PH value of 0.1mol/L water solution is 4.17(15℃). It’s very soluble in glycerol. It’s soluble in dilute ethanol but insoluble in pure ethanol. It is used as nutritional supplement, antimicrobial agent, firming agent and processing aid.
